Well, it was ‘80s night this week, so there were big earrings, leggings, boots, legwarmers and some crazy eye shadow. Catherine S. (That’s What She Sang) started us off by channeling her inner Tina with “What’s Love Got to Do With it.” Steve S. (The Nicest Kids in Town) was a “Smooth Criminal.” Heather M. (Treblemakers) asked us to please “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” or her. Marla K. (Whatever We Can Read) brought the kick-butt boots as she sang “I Hate Myself For Loving You.” Mark G. (Duelly Noted) wanted to “Come on Eileen.” Rachel A. (We Only Sing 6 Min Songs) was “Dancing With Myself.” And Mary-Alice F. (Naughty By Nurture) wore a sequin dress as she asked people to “Call Me.”
In the second round Tara K. (That’s What She Sang) – hey, that’s me – sang about being “Alone.” Rachel B. (Nicest Kids in Town) gave us the ballad with “Open Arms.” Emily D.-F. (Treblemakers) climbed the benches as she sang “Take My Breath Away.” Ryan F. (Whatever, We Can Read) did a little creative editing to some of the lyrics in “8675309″ so now we all have his number. (Has anyone tried calling that yet?) Donna M. (Duelly Noted) asked us to get “Into the Groove.” Tila K. (We Only Sing 6 Min Songs) told us “What I Like About You.” And Nasser B. (Naughty By Nurture) explained that “You Spin Me Right Round.”
And the third round was wear the serious costumes came out. There were many, many headbands. My team, That’s What She Sang insisted we were destined for “Fame.” The Nicest Kids in Town brought us “Like a Virgin.” The Treblemakers brought out the headbands as they asked us to “Wake Me Up (Before You Go-Go).”. Whatever, We Can Read was “Living on a Prayer.” Duelly Noted broke out a kissing booth for “Kiss on My List.” We Only Sing 6 Min Songs sang “Time After Time.” And Naughty By Nurture asked us to “Take Me Home Tonight.”
It was another great week. Hope all that eye shadow washed off. I can’t wait to see what everyone has planned for semi-finals
